The selection committee will select a project that meets these qualifications:
Yes. Teachers may apply as many times as they want but they must resubmit their application for that month.
A teacher can only win one Teacher Grant of the Month award during the October 2009-April 2010 school year.
No. All teachers listed in question #1 are eligible.
The grant check is made payable to the school. CapEd will require a statement to be signed by the principal that the proceeds of the award will be used for the project and not for other purposes. CapEd will provide the principal with the appropriate forms.
No. Since the check is made payable to the school the proceeds are not taxable.
Each grant winner will be given a “Project Recap” form to report their project. This mandatory form provides CapEd with a way to track how the grant money was spent, turn in receipts, and write a narrative on how the project benefited students and education. Documentation and photos are highly encouraged to show the Selection Committee how the money was spent.
A certificate will be given to the teacher commemorating their achievement. Please post this certificate near the completed project or in a prominent place in the school.
